About Him

David interviewing MoneyGram Sales Director Richard LevyBorn in the United Kingdom to Caribbean parents, David lived most of his life in the Caribbean where he grew up in Antigua, St Lucia, Grenada and Guyana. David served as a print journalist in Tortola, British Virgin Islands where he co-founded the BVI PennySaver newspaper, now renamed BVI Standpoint. Following a severe personal debate about harnessing the rest of his professional life David reevaluated his options and immigrated back to the United Kingdom in 2000.

To gain an intimate knowledge and understanding of the African / Caribbean community David joined Boston Hannah Communications where he got grounding in the art of professional advertising sales.

He later moved to Black Britain Online as content editor and later joined The Colourful Network for a spell then was headhunted for a special project with the Ethnic Media Group publishers of the Caribbean Times, Asian Times and New Nation Newspapers as Caribbean Project Sales Manager. He also freelanced for the Voice Newspaper while he read for the post graduate diploma in Management Studies (DMS) at Westminster Business School, London.

With a reasonable grasp of the African / Caribbean experience in the UK under his belt, David set up Innovative Marketing Technologies Limited (IMT) with a view to tapping into his extensive corporate ROLADEX to provide essential development facilities difficult for Caribbean governments to underwrite. IMT provided 180 sponsored street signs to the government and people of St Kitts as part of the Cricket World Cup 2006 preparations. In 2007 David decided to take the plunge and go after mainstream corporate funding by appearing on the BBC 1 Dragons Den program. Though he did not get the cash he needed to expand IMT and suffered some humiliation on the show, David regards the experience as invaluable, worthwhile and unforgettable.

Determined to succeed at his dream, in 2008 he set up Global Marketing International Limited with the help of a wealthy Caribbean entrepreneur / investor and pioneered the design and delivery of 81 international standard directional road signs to the government and people of Antigua in 2008.

Now in his mid forties and looking every day of it David has set up Innovative Brand Solutions Limited (IBS) and is in the process of delivering over three hundred sponsored directional road signs to the government and people of St Lucia.
